A strange mound in forest. Historic vestige or hesoteric spot?

My experience, Explo description: 

Archaeological excavations have not there yet occurred in Liepupes mound, but there is a presumption that the 12th century, this place could have been the old Metsepole people central palace. So if you want, you can go there to feel ancient times.

But other people also say that this spot is too close to the sea to establish a palace/castle, so they believe this mound is the vestige of an old pirate fortress.

Lastly, some people think this place is kind of mystic and experience it as a hesoteric spot...

Close to the mound, have a look at the Liepupe Lutheran Church (1783).

My personal recommendations: 

This Explo is pretty small. But with its offrans, its mound and its small wooden memorial, the atmosphere is curious. Take time to try to imagine the place in the past and understand what were its origins...

How getting there: 

The mound is located in Jelgavkrasti, close to the river. From the A1 road, there are sign to follow.
