A singular Art Nouveau villa, which is now an hotel and restaurant.

My experience, Explo description:

Hermann Leopold Ammende was one of the richest merchants of Pärnu. His ancestors had moved from Germany to Estonia in the 18th century. Ammende was looking for a proper house for the wedding party of his daughter Ellen. As he couldn't find any, he decided to buid one, order Mieritz & Gerassimov architects from St Petersburg to build the villa for the wedding and the summer holidays of the family.

The main building was completed in 1905, the other in 1905-1907. It is the most stylish and best preserved building of its era in Estonia and a nice example of the Russian architecture of that time.

Russian Art Nouveau included all trends of Jugendstil in paralled with a touch of local colouring.

If you ask politely to the the desk keeper, you can enter in the villa and visit the different rooms. The interior is really rich.

The hallway on the ground floor leads to the main hall of the building extending through 2 floors. The function rooms of the building are decorated as saloons and halls.
