A very nice little chapel, lost in beautiful landscapes...

My experience, Explo description:

This Romanic style chapel was built in the 12th century, near the road linking the salt lines of Villeneuve-les-Maguelone to Aniane.

It is relatively close to the ruined castle of Aumelas, which had a great importance at that time.

This chape is simple. This is what makes it wonderful. It was renovated during the 70's

A priory of relative importance was located around the church, now ruined priory.

Located in an almost deserted area, the chapel is relatively unknown but worth a visit, especially as access is free.

Have a look at the priory ruins, in front of the chapel.

As the door is open most of the time, you can enter and admire the wonderful vault.

My personal recommendations:

About 500M (NE), you can also visit the vestiges and ruins of an important "Mas" (farm)...

How getting there:

By car. From Cournonterral village, take the D114 road direction to Saint-Paul-and-Valmalle.

Drive about 10km. Once on the highlands, close to Mas Figueres, from the road, on the left. Park you rcar and go there by feet.

A tip to eat:

Take a pic nic!
