Discover an impressive fort built at the end of the 19th century, dedicated at defending the entrance of Rotterdam harbor.

My experience, Explo description:

The fort was built in 1881.

It was used in WW2 against the German attack in 1940.

After the war, the fort was deteriorated, and was only restored in 1989, as a museum.

My personal recommendations:

You should give a ring before getting there cause the museum is quite ofter closed. It also organizes guided tours.

How getting there:

Address: Stationsweg 82, Hoek van Holland

Park on Konnigin Emmaboulevard when you drive to the end of the Hoek Van Holland.
