Nice beaches and blue waters perfect for snorkelling and diving holidays

My experience, Explo description:

Approximately an hour away by boat from nearest boat terminal, Mantanani is a small Island in the South China Sea with white sandy beaches and amazing blue waters... If you look east in the morning you will catch the glimpse of the majestic Mount Kinabalu, the sacred place of the Kadazan-Dusun tribe where they believe the spirit of the dead take their final rest...

Diving and snorkeling

Turtles, Coral reefs

My personal recommendations:

Still unspoilt but tourists are starting to come to this island ever since a few companies opening some resorts and operating day trips from mainland

How getting there:

Book through any travel agent in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.

A tip to eat:

Eating at the resort's restaurant is expensive. Cheaper way is to wander into the village and buy your food from small stalls operated by local villagers... the price here is 1/10th of that in the resort.

A tip to sleep:

Bring tents for cheapest option. You can set up on the beach right next to the Marine Police barrack or on the beach at the south-east side of the island. You can also camp out in the resort's compound for a small fee.

Useful information:
Open hours:

Electricity only available from 6pm to 6am.

Entry fees:

Boat transfers : RM150 per person
Dormitory bed : RM60 per person per night
Camping : RM25 per person per night
Food and drinks NOT included

I like this island but to

I like this island but to dive there is much too expensive for me as I never pay to dive... the cost for diving is more than double the price we charge to our own customers on the mainland.

I love walking around the island just enjoying the scenery and talking to the villagers.
