A whole building squatted by a dozen of artists in the very heart of Paris.

My experience, Explo description:

The building is located on the 59th, Rue de Rivoli. Hence the name ;-)

The building has been squatted since 1st November 1999, when the KGB trio (Kalex, Gaspard and Bruno), entered in an abandoned building. A few days later, a dozen other artists came to live there.

Now, the place is open to public. You can access to their studios and see their works on progress.

Just walk around in the different storeys of the building.

My personal recommendations:

It is a very unique experience to discover and walk in the studios of these alternative artists. Doors are open, and you can freely talk with them.

How getting there:

59 rue de Rivoli, 75001 Paris

Metro: Châtelet

A tip to eat:

No place to eat in the squat.
