A beautiful cape with very soft white sands.

My experience, Explo description: 

Tanjung Bira Beach located in Tanjung Bira Village, Bonto Bahari District, Bulukumba Regency, Province of South Sulawesi, Indonesia. The distance is about 40 kilometers eastern of Bulukumba capital regency, or about 200 kilometers southeast of Makassar City.

Tanjung Bira is located in the southern tip of South Sulawesi peninsula, makes this place as different objects among others tourism places. You can watch the sunrise in eastern horizon and sunset in western horizon in a straight line. Along the coast, white sand is extended. It feels very soft. Many foreign tourists willing to enjoy the warm of sun shine along the day, than swim, or just immerse themselves to feel the sea water. You can also play volley beach there. Along the scenery off to the waters is only wide blue sea. In front of the eyes look, there are Liukang Island and Kambing Island, which is often visited by tourists.

- You can rent boat to bring you to Liukang island and Kambing island.

- From Tanjung Bira you can go to Tanjung Beru, still in Bulukumba Regency, to see how people build wooden sailing ships (Phinisi ships).

- From Bulukumba Port, you can cross to Selayar island.

How getting there: 

Tanjung Bira Beach can be reached from Makassar City with public transportation (buses and minibuses). The trip is getting started from Mallengkeri Bus Station in the southern part of Makassar to Bulukumba Bus Station. If you start from Hasanuddin Airport, you can use taxi to Mallengkeri Bus station. The rate is around IDR 40.000. The range rate from Mallengkeri to Bulukumba is between IDR 40,000 IDR up to IDR 50,000 per person. From Bulukumba Bus Station, you can use pete-pete (publictransportation) to Bira, range rate is between IDR 8,000 and IDR 10,000.
Total time from Makassar to Tanjung Bira about 3 - 3.5 hours, but can be longer if holiday as the traffic to Tanjung Bira usually crowded :(

Transportation from Bira only until afternoon (3 or 4 o'clock). If you want to going back to Makassar on the same evening, you can rent a car. The tariff is IDR 500,000.

A tip to eat: 

There's many of restaurants in this area. Of course the main menu is seafood.

A tip to sleep: 

Tanjung Bira coast has long been managed as a tourism object by the Government of Bulukumba Regency. Several hotels and lodging stood there. It is completed with supporting facilities such as restaurants and entertainment. The price is about IDR 100,000 up to IDR 600,000 per night. There are also rental equipment to snorkel and dive.
