Rugged mountains on the north-eastern tip of the Tenerife island.

My experience, Explo description: 

This mountain is geologically speaking old, but it is still very rugged. Despite its narrowness it dominates the sea by more than 1,000m.

The North wind, loaded with moisture, face this barrier and there is often clouds and rain to the North side, while the sun shines to the South. As a result, the Anaga is very green, with a much more furnished vegetation than in other parts of Tenerife.

The Anaga was categorized natural park in 1987.

Take the peaks road. This road continuously offers impressive views on Northern and Southern slopes. Sensitive people should abstain ! Caution : you must drive very slowly and carefully on this road, because it is very windy and tremendous. It takes more than an hour to 25 km between Las Mercedes and Chamorga. In addition, it would be a pity not take advantage of the numerous miradors (see points) on the way.

Opening time : winter : 9h30 - 16h / summer : 9h30 - 15h

There is also a local market on Saterdays and Sundays : 10h - 15h

To relax your legs, you can make a short walk in the primitive Laurel forest (covered with lichen), particularly in the vicinity of the Casa Forestal de Anaga.

A tip to eat: 

For lunch, a suggestion : drive down by the spectacular road of North slopes (it crosses the Ridge through a tunnel), cross Tananaga and go to a fish restaurant in Almaciga or Benijo.
