Visit Thailand in a single day... Ancient Siam is a not so famous park, worth to visit!

My experience, Explo description: 

Ancient Siam is relatively little known park dedicated to preserving Thai cultural heritage in the form of the many significant buildings and historical places from throughout the country.

The park was founded by a rich Thai gentleman who spent almost all his money to build this dream.

Taking up 320 acres of land, roughly in the shape of Thailand, the huge park reproduces (on a smaller scale of course !) important buildings from around Thailand. There are over 100 monuments !

Some of them are reconstructions of buildings that no longer exist.

Visiting when you have just arrived in Thailand is a good way to become familiar with the country architecture and history.

Do not miss the Prasat Phra Wihan (Preah Vihear). From the top of the hill, you will enjoy an overview of the park , but also of the "industrial" neighbourhood.

My personal recommendations: 

As the park is really big (you might need up to one day to visit it), you can use many different transportation means : shuttle (free), bikes (free), electric cars ($6 for 1h, $12 for 3h), or... your own car.

How getting there: 

By car : 1 hour. Take the express way as far as the Samrong Samutprakan exit. Turn to the Samut Prakan Intersection. Turn left along the old Sukhumvit Road (towards Bangpoo) until you get to km33. Ancient Siam is on the left.
Bus : take bus 511 (Pinklao-Paknam) to the end of the line. Then take the minibus N°36.
Taxi : Getting to Ancient Siam costs about $5.

A tip to eat: 

There are many (and shady) restaurants in the park.
