Just a few meter down the Mount Phu Si hill summit, you can discover the vestige of an anti-aircraft gun. Easy to see, and maybe one of the oddest things to see in Luang Prabang!

My experience, Explo description:

This gun seems to be a Russian 23mm ZU-23-2 model, and was most likely lugged up Phu Si during the Second Indochina War.

My personal recommendations:

Get there at the sunset : this is the best moment to visit the Mount Phu Si : standing on the summit of the hill, you can enjoy a wonderful view over the Mekong and the whole city.

How getting there:

The gun is located on the crest 30m (E) from the summit and the Buddhist temple.

A tip to eat:

No place to eat there, except a little shop with drinks.

A tip to sleep:

Many Guest houses in Luang Prabang.
