Balazuc is a picturesque village overlooking the Ardèche river .

My experience, Explo description:

Balazuc village has a rich heritage, restored with care: medieval houses, narrow vaulted and paved streets.

Have a look at the Romanic fortified church "Sainte Marie" (12th century), with arched steeple.

You can also check out the 12th/13th castle and the remnants of walls.

The Ardèche river is very lively during heavy rain falls. The river has dug in the limestone highlands a large canion bordered with impressive cliffs. This river is perfect for kayaking. You can rent boats in Vogue, Balazuc and Ruoms for instance.

How getting there:

Balazuc is located 15km south of Aubenas.
