Santa Teresa is actually made up of 2 churches, Santa Teresa (Eastern side) and Santa Ana (Western side). Both churches are joined in the centre (main altar).

My experience, Explo description:

Saint Theresa was declared a Basilica by Pope Paul VI.

My personal recommendations:

Do not miss to visit particularly Santa Teresa : the church is really crowded, with devotees coming to venerate El Nazareno de San Pablo (The Nazarene of St. Paul).

This magnificent carved wooden statue is supposed to perform miracles for many believers.

How getting there:

Metro Linea 1 / 2 : Capitollo / El Silencio. Then walk 5 minutes.

This part of the Caracas Centro is ok, but not so safe : that’s why you should take a taxi. Do not go there at night.

A tip to eat:

Many little food shops around.
