Beaubourg is very touristic. But this is a very singular way to visit this area. Cool article Bolino!

Visiting an original open air modern art museum for free at your own pace, while discovering Paris districts and café terrasses? Let's make an art galleries tour! Today, let's stop at Beaubourg...

My experience, Explo description:

Beaubourg is the very heart of Paris. Many little streets, squares and pedestrian areas : this tour will bring you to various original art galleries... Do not hesitate to push galleries’ doors, even if you don’t buy anything ! Photography, painting, scultpure : if you like it, talk with the gallerists, they will be happy to talk about their exhibitions, and if you don’t, just go to the next gallery !...

If you have time, go to the French National Modern Art Museum : Beaubourg. It is worth getting there, just for its original architecture (designed by Rogers and Piano), for the exhibitions, or for a drink on the top terrasse café (amazing view)...

My personal recommendations:

During your tour, do not hesitate to stop and rest on café terrasses...

How getting there:

Beware the map : as the modern art market changes very quickly, some art galleries might not exist anymore when you come... But you can also discover new ones that did just open meanwhile !
Beaubourg is in the really heart of Paris : take metro or RER to Chatelet-Les Halles station...

A tip to sleep:

You can stay in Paris of course !
