An interesting visit to learn about the History of Belgium.

My experience, Explo description: 

At the end of the 19th century, King Leopold II dreams of turning Brussels into a capital rivalling Paris. The swampy field, once used as exercise grounds by the Civic Guard, is remodelled into a park. Exhibition buildings and a monumental archway rise among the trees.

The Military museum is created for the World Exhibition of 1910 and finds a permanent home in the Jubilee Park (Parc du Cinquantenaire) in 1923.

The museum hosts weapons, uniforms, paintings and even 2 ships !

Do not miss the impressive Planes Gallery. Close to it, you can also find a little exhibition area for battle tanks.

The WW2 section has a very modern and lively museography.

The museum also hosts temporary exhibitions : usually 2 at the same time.

My personal recommendations: 

I would advise you to take an audio guide. Price is about 2/3 €.

How getting there: 

Tram : 81 & 82
Bus : 12, 21, 22, 27, 28, 36, 61, 80
Train / Subway : Merode of Schuman
Car : there is a car park on the Cinquantenaire Square.

A tip to eat: 

Cafeteria is open from 11am to 4pm. (But not much to eat there !)

Useful information: 
Open hours: 

Tuesday through Sunday, from 9am till noon and from 1pm to 4.45pm. The aviation hall remains open all day, even during lunch break.
