An interesting visit to learn about the History of Belgium.

Explo History and Description:

At the end of the 19th century, King Leopold II dreams of turning Brussels into a capital rivalling Paris. The swampy field, once used as exercise grounds by the Civic Guard, is remodelled into a park. Exhibition buildings and a monumental archway rise among the trees.

The Military museum is created for the World Exhibition of 1910 and finds a permanent home in the Jubilee Park (Parc du Cinquantenaire) in 1923.

The museum hosts weapons, uniforms, paintings and even 2 ships !

Do not miss the impressive Planes Gallery. Close to it, you can also find a little exhibition area for battle tanks.

The WW2 section has a very modern and lively museography.

The museum also hosts temporary exhibitions : usually 2 at the same time.

My experience and personal tips:

I would advise you to take an audio guide. Price is about 2/3 €.
