A strange collection of diverse military equipments. The museum is located close to the sea, in a nice shady park planted with trees. For all those who want to discover the Bulgarian navy history!

Explo History and Description: 

The museum traces the Bulgarian navy and commercial fleet history since 1878. It is divided in two parts, the exhibition hall and the park.

The park shows diverse military equipment and machinery, including a Khamov and other helicopters.

My experience and personal tips: 

The highlight of the museum is the Drazki. This is a torpedo boat. It became famous during the First Balkan War in 1912 by sinking a Turkish cruiser. The ship is really well preserved and lies in the park.

Unfortunately, the Bulgarian Naval Museum in Varna has been closed since at least Sept. 2010 & is still not open as of March 26, 2011. There is nothing to be opened soon to public view & no one in Varna seems to know when they will finish the renovations. Do NOT expect anything to be opened there for the next 6 months. Sorry!
