The cable car will offer you the possibility of overlooking Madrid and of contemplating one of its most historic but also the most green districts.

My experience, Explo description:

The cable car was built in 1969. In the cabin, a voice off (in spanish language) acts as guide and will tell you all what you should notice under your feet.

The cable car is 2,5 kilometres long. The trip lasts 11 minutes, at a maximum height of 40 metres above ground level !

Casa de Campo is an ideal place for those interested in mountain biking.

My personal recommendations:

Take the cable car from the Parque des Oeste and walk back from the Park to Madrid. Stop at the lake close to Lago metro station : the place is really popular and you can enjoy there many terrace restaurants.

How getting there:

Parque del Oeste.
Metro Arguelles (lines : 3, 4, 6.)
Then walk west the calle del Marques de Urquijo (500m).

A tip to eat:

Restaurants at the departure and the arrival of the cabins. You can also eat close to the Lago lake.

A tip to sleep:

In Madrid : you will have plenty of choice !
