A walking tour around an old castle surrounded by a very nice campaign.

My experience, Explo description:

Built in 1323 by Rambaldo VIII di Colalto, the castle still belongs to the Colalto family.

Due to its strategic location on a hill, the Citadel of San Salvatore controlled the Piave River northern side, on the Trevise-Conigliano axis. The Austro-Hungarian army transformed the castle into an observatory. In addition, they fortified it and hid artillery pieces in its caves. The castle became a target for the Italian artillery and was severely damaged.

Despite the recovery of the site, it remains visible traces of the conflict.

OUTSIDE :

The castle is situated in the middle of a very nice campaign. It is surrounded by a double enclosure walls.

Simply make a walk on the road going along the castle. This is really pleasant.

INSIDE :

The interior of the castle can be visited on demand : its surface is 32,000 m2.
