A lost Phoenician temple in the middle of orange trees fields

My experience, Explo description:

The temple is dedicated to the Phoenician god Eshmoum (IV-V century before JC).
Many interesting details have to be founds in ruins :

  • A king seat with lions head
  • Bas-reliefs (hunting and eating scenes, a man killing a cockerel, a bull head…)
How getting there:

Eshmoun temple is located 4 Km in the north of Saïda (Sidon - Lebanon). Coming from Saïda in the direction of Beirut and after the great mosque of the Hariri family, turn right and ride along the small road in the Nahr el-Awali river. Cross the bridged protected by the Lebanese army. The site is located just after the bridge in the middle of orange trees fields.

Free entrance. The site is no longer closed.
