A 500 inhabitants village, located in a lush valley on the north-east side of the island. A very quiet atmosphere.

My experience, Explo description:

Church Nostra Signora of Encarnacion (17th century)

Plantations and banana packaging plant.

Church Santo Domingo de Guzman (16th century) with a Mudejar ceiling.

The very beautiful and spectacular route to Agulo (picturesque village). It is 5km long.

My personal recommendations:

Gofio mills. The gofio is a product that can only be found in the Canary Islands. It is a mixture of toasted cereals (wheat, maize, barley) which was use to replace the bread in the past.

At the end of the visit, you can taste Gofio, with sweet wine.

Hours : 10 - 17pm week and 10 - 14pm on Sundays
Entry : 2 €

A tip to eat:

The grocery store sells a succulent Guava jam (coming direct from Brazil).
