A nice, original and lonely minaret overlooking a little village. One of the oldest minaret in central Asia...

My experience, Explo description:

This lonely minaret has been built in 1109-1110. It is 10 years older than the famous Kalan minaret in Bukhara and one of the oldest in Central Asia !

Check out the particular architecture of the minaret : it is 22m high, whereas, originally, according to archaeologists, it was supposed to be... 50m high, as high as the Bibi Khanum minaret in Samarkand !
This minaret is made of clay bricks, settled in 16 columns, giving the minaret its original shape.
It has been designed by Ali Ibn Mohammed, an architect working for Sandjar sultan.

My personal recommendations:

Visit that minaret while driving on the road from Termez to Denau (Denov). There is a little shop down the minaret where you can eat.

How getting there:

On the road from Termez to Denau (Denov) (30km, N, from Termez). The minaret is located at Minor village (communist Kolkhoze), about 7km (S) from Jarkurgan. Please, when you drive out of Termez, follow the road going along the railroad.

A tip to sleep:

You can stay in Termez.
