If you want to learn more about that famous Norwegian explorator who was a great adventure and environment Man! Visiting that museum will inspire you new trips around the world!

My experience, Explo description:

Thor Heyerdahl (1914 – 2002) was a Norwegian ethnographer and adventurer with a scientific background in zoology and geography.
After an expedition (1936) to the French Marquesas (Fatu Hiva) with his wife living for 1 year on a lost island, he became famous for his Kon-Tiki
expedition (1947), in which he sailed 4,300 miles (7,000 km) by raft from Peru to the Tuamotu Islands.
Thus, Kon-Tiki demonstrated that it was possible for a primitve raft to sail the Pacific with relative ease and that Polynesia could have been settled from east to west, whereas usually anthropologists continue to believe that Polynesia was settled from west to east, migration having begun from Asia.

The Kon-Tiki Museum houses original boats and exhibits from Thor Heyerdahl’s expeditions.
Permanent exhibitions will show you materials of all Heyerdahl’s adventures : Ra, Tigris, Fatu-Hiva, Kon-Tiki, and Easter Island.

The museum also has a cinema and souvenir shop.
