This 8 km trail allows you to tour an ornithological park. This route is totally free.

My experience, Explo description:

The Teich Park occupies 120 hectares of land. This area has been conquered on the sea in the 18th century to create a form of fish farming known locally as "fish tanks."
In the 1960s, this activity collapsed and the owners exchanged these marshes against forest parcels lands. The area is currently owned the Teich commune.

The Teich park coastline trail (4.5 km, 1 hour) :
From the Eyre delta to the shores of the basin, crossing fish tanks, swampy areas, salted meadows, wet grasslands with sheep and horses.

The Eyre shores trail (3.5 km, 3/4 h) :
To discover an exceptional natural surroundings with Osmunda ferns, as well as many birds and mammals. Trail’s departure : the Teich port.

Teich plains and Fleury domain trail (5 km, 1 hour) :

Sneaking in the middle of the reeds to discover a varied wildlife...

Located in the heart of the Eyre delta, among old fish tanks basins and Fleury wet grasslands. The hydraulic operation is assured through several locks and grazing through horses, sheep and goats, by agreement with a local farmer.

The trail follows the dykes belt and has the advantage to loop back to the starting point.

My personal recommendations:

If you have just one car, you should choose to take the Fleury domain loop trail, or the park trail (go and back).

If you have 2 cars, the best is to leave a vehicle in the car park of the Nature House of the Eyre Delta and start your tour from the Cantaranne parking. Thus you will make a rich and varied 8km long tour (approximately 2 hours) + more stops to observe birds.

Ornithology enthusiasts will prefer to pay the entrance to the Park (7 €) and enjoy many shelters and observatories to observe birds meadows without disturbing them.

The hikers will prefer to follow the coastal trail.

Attention to the tides : to see a maximum of birds, it is better to go there at high tide.

Conversely, low tide completely changes landscapes and is a most appropriate time for hikers.
