Mount Nemrut has since been a significant attraction, with thousands sunrise and sunset visitors to see the stones in the best possible light.

My experience, Explo description:

When the dynasty was at its height of power during the 1st century B.C. This spectacular structure was made of large slabs of rock to form a pyramid-like configuration. The east and west terraces of this mound are open-air temples. On these terraces are immense statues of lions, eagles, five gigantic god statues, four male and one female, most of which are amazingly well preserved. The statues are arranged in the same order on both the eastern and western terraces ; Apollo, Tyche the Commagene god of fertility, Zeus, Antiochus and Hercules.

You should see sunrise and sunset in Nemrut. The best period is between May 15 and October 15.

Learn more about Commagene empire. A collection of colossal statues on a remote mountain 2150m (7,001 ft) high, adorning the temple and tomb of King Antiochus, one of the kings of Commagene.
