The museo de Arte Colonial is hosted in lovely villa: the Quinta de Anauco. This mansion, with its shady garden, is a peaceful green island lost in the time, among the ugly modern concrete buildings.

My experience, Explo description:

The house is Spanish colonial style. It was built in 1797.

There are guided tours (in Spanish) every hour. The guides are really nice. They will show you all the secrets of the mansion. Do not miss the ingenious water filter realized with coconut tree wood.

The rooms of the house have been restored. Many religious artefacts like painting or sculptures are exposed (almost 100 !).

My personal recommendations:

For me, I think the best of the visit was just to rest in the lovely garden.

How getting there:

By taxi.
Avenida Panteon, Caracas, Venezuela

Else, 20mn by feet from Bellas Artes metro.

A tip to eat:

No restaurant in the museum. Take away a lunch and pic nic in the garden.
