Explo History and Description: 

Nipah is the name of little palm trees living close to the rivers.
Nipah valley is a lovely place where you can enjoy the sea, as well as the treks into the jungle. The atmosphere is laid back and relaxed, most of the travellers are backpackers who put up at Nipah Beach Chalets, a little resort with only a few chalets.

Enjoy all the neighbouring little beaches : they are so nice and no one will disturb you... except monkeys !

Just relax and enjoy fresh grilled fish and fruits at the little resort restaurant...

My experience and personal tips: 

Behind the little resort, a trail goes along the river, going deep into the jungle. This trail goes to the peak of Gunung Kajang, the highest mountain in Tioman (1038m). Follow it on about 1km, then you can make a stop at the river and swim into different little waterfalls. This is really a lovely experience.
For the most courageous ones, you can go further to the peak. But you should rather ask the owners of the resort to organize a trek for you there (2 days) because the trip is quite long and the trail is not so easy to follow.

How getting there: 

No road is getting there. Only a trail goes to Genting village. So the only way to come is to use the resort boat that will come to hold you at Genting. So you need to make a reservation before coming !

Boats from Mersing to Genting every day. Mersing is the local continental harbour that links all the neighbouring islands. The first boats leave around 8am. You can book resorts at Mersing harbour : there are a lot of travel agencies there.

To Mersing : 4h drive by car from Kuala Lumpur. 1.5h drive by car from Johor Bahru. There are a few buses every day. If you prefer, you can use a taxi (70RM) to Johor Bahru.
