A little Viking house built in a forest overlooking a huge river... And a beach music festival at the summer time...

My experience, Explo description: 

The Orhall Viking house is a reconstitution of a 1000 year old Viking house. It has been built with the same tools as people did hundreds years ago... The house is a possible reconstruction of how the houses were built in Novgorod (Holmgärd) in Russia. Novgorod was at that time an important trade centre for the Viking.

Do not miss the dragoon head at the entrance of the house. This head was removable : the village chief had to take it every time he had to move far out of the village, as a symbol of his power.

If you want, you can rent the house for a night or a diner... Price is about 500 Krons. For the booking, please call Orbaden Konferenz and Spa hotel (hotel standing very close to the Viking house). Tel : +46 (0) 278 621 500.

My personal recommendations: 

In the summer time (July), there is a music festival on the beach down of the house. Call Böllnass Tourism board for more information : +46 (0) 0278-250 00

How getting there: 

By car. Orbaden is on the road N°83, about 20km north from Böllnass (300km north from Stockholm).
