Okay: the Pergamon museum is not an original place... But if you are interested in Antiques, this museum is a must go, as the German archaeologists dismantled entire antic beauties to re-build them in the museum. It is a unique experience to seat on the stairs of the Pergamon Altar or to stay in front of the Babylonian Ishtar gate...

My experience, Explo description:

The Pergamon Museum was planned by Alfred Messel and Ludwig Hoffmann and was built from 1910 to 1930.

The museum is subdivided into the antiquity collection, the Middle East museum and the museum of Islamic art.

Audio guide service is included in the ticket fare : it makes the visit much more interesting and comfortable !

My personal recommendations:

As the museum is very crowded, we advise you to get there early in the morning or 1-2h before the museum closes : you won’t have to queue for hours ! Or come on Thursdays : the museum is opened till 10p.m.
