A little temple located on the top of a rocky hill. Nice view and monkeys guaranteed!

My experience, Explo description:

The king of Ayuttaya, Phachaochongtham, had an order to find out a Buddha foot print in the mountains. After a long search, he finally found one here in Puttha Chay.

Puttha Chay means ’the shadow on the mountain". It comes from a legend : Buddha teached Bouddhism to a local hunter called Khataga. After finishing, Khataga asked Buddha for a momentum from Buddhism teaching. As an answer, Buddha showed him his shadow on the mountain...

The site in made of a Buddha cave located in the middle of a cliff. On the top of the cliff, you can access by car to 2 little temples built on a rock eminence, from where you will have an amazing view on the whole area. And you will make many new minkey friends.

My personal recommendations:

Go there at the sun set if you can.

How getting there:

By car : take Highway n°1 from Bangkok to Saraburi. Just 6km before arriving in Saraburi, make a right on the deviation road going to Nakon Ratchassima. Drive 3km (NE) and you will see on your right the rocky mountain with the temple. The temple is located in Nong Pla lai.

A tip to eat:

There is a food court at the entrance of the site.
