The "Roques de Garcia" walking tour is an easy trail going along spectacular lava rocks and vestiges of eroded former volcanic chimneys with fantastic forms.

My experience, Explo description:

The walk is 1.5h long. You have about 3km to go, and there are many signs.

Start at the Canada Blanca car park.

Have a look at the "Cathedral" : a well named rock, and an ideal place for rock climbing.

My personal recommendations:

For hiking amateurs, you can also walk to the volcano summit (hard).

Else try the Fortaleza walking tour (4h to go, see related article), or the Siete Canadas tour (if you have 2 cars) : this tour links the 2 information centres (El Portillo and Canada Blanca). It is easy to go (but 16km long), with various landscapes, going along the Southern side of the "Las Canadas"

See map for Siete Canadas tour :

How getting there:

See related map.

A tip to eat:

Take a pic nic, or the best is to eat in Vilaflor (22km from the Roques, SW).

A tip to sleep:

There is a quite ugly parador opposite to the Roques de Garcia.
