For those want want to experience how life was on board of a German WW2 U Boot...

Explo History and Description: 

The U995 was launched on 22th July 1943.
She achieved 9 patrols, sinking 6 ships.
She was stroke at Trondheim (Norway) on 8 May, 1945 and then surrendered to Britain.
Britain transferred her back to Norway, and the U995 became the Norwegian submarine Kaura on 1 Dec, 1952. She returned back to Germany, where she became a museum ship in Oct 1971.

The U Boot is nowadays perched on a sand beach. You can visit her. It is really a strange feeling to experience how the 40-50 crew lived in such a tiny space...

My experience and personal tips: 

Close to the sub marine, you can visit the Marine-Ehrenmal naval memorial. It was built in the years 1927-1936 for the WWI German sailors. It is now a memorial to people of all nations who died at sea and a memorial to peaceful shipping. It is a 85m high tower, which visitors can climb up inside. Nice sight from the top.
Inside the building, there is an exhibition with model ships, maps, and dioramas on the history of merchant shipping and the navy.
