Venice Beach is a curious stroll in the South of Santa Monica. On the one side stands the beach and beautiful tanned and muscular boys and girls, of the other side, the completely original population, where you can meet millionnaires tramps, neighbours who walk their boas, and various shops and street artists.

My experience, Explo description:

The Venice beach boardwalk, on its north side, goes along different shops, massage, tatoo and karma boutiques...

On the south part of the Venice beach boardwalk, you will walk along quiter design houses looking over the beach and the ocean. A nice walk for all the architectture amateurs. (See pictures)

From their, go 200m along the 23rd, 24th, 25th or 26th Pl to get to the Venice Canalwalk. This part of the tour is a vestige of the original Venice, built at the beginning of the 20th century as a recreation park, where italians Gondolieri drove tourists along the different canals. Now the place is really peaceful, with many flowers.

2km north from Venice Beach walk stands the Santa Monica Pier, acquarium and recreation park. Close to this place (200m S) stand the famous "muscle beach" : only for muscle amateurs !

And, in any case, this tour is the occasion to relax, swim and have a rest on the beautiful beach !

How getting there:

You can park south from the Santa Monica Pier.
Otherwise, many car parks stands along the beach.
Beware, prices for parking are quite expensive.

A tip to eat:

Anywhere ! There are so many little food stores !
